Alpes & Lavande is a 7-day motorcycle tour between Italy and France, designed for those who want to ride stress-free on some of the most beautiful paved roads in Europe, crossing iconic and ever-changing landscapes.
From the Piedmont Alps to the French gorges, from the lavender fields of Provence to the great alpine passes like Colle del Vars and Sestriere, the journey unfolds along a fluid and spectacular loop itinerary, ideal for adventure and touring motorcycles.
The pace is relaxed, with well-balanced stages, scenic stops and time to enjoy every place along the way.

Your motorcycle: Adventure / Tourer
You'll ride an Adventure or Touring motorcycle – comfortable, reliable and perfect for tackling alpine passes and long stretches of road. All roads are 100% paved, so no off-road experience is required.
An expert tour leader guides the group, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Technical and organizational assistance is always available throughout the tour.
This is an all-inclusive premium experience – everything is taken care of so you can focus solely on enjoying the ride and the spectacular scenery.
Morning transfer to Casalgrasso, motorcycle pickup and initial briefing. We immediately enter the heart of mountainous Piedmont, with flowing roads and light traffic. The route climbs progressively towards the Cuneo Alps, through forests and open valleys, reaching Argentera, the last major town before the French border.
First alpine curves, wide panoramic roads, high mountain atmosphere
Border crossing and entry into France. The landscape changes rapidly: from green mountains to the spectacular Red Gorges, where the road is literally carved into the rock. Flowing curves, deep canyons and intense colors make this one of the most exciting stages of the tour, while always remaining on asphalt with contained difficulty.

We leave the mountain environment to descend towards Provence. The road becomes gentler and more flowing, passing through typical villages and open hills. Afternoon arrival at the Valensole plateau, in the heart of the most famous lavender blooming area.
Total change of scenery, Provençal villages, first lavender fields
Day dedicated to exploring the surroundings of Valensole. We travel along panoramic secondary roads, ideal for relaxed riding and numerous photo stops. The pace is intentionally slow, to enjoy the scents, colors and unique atmosphere of Provence.
Endless lavender fields, quiet secondary roads, complete sensory experience
We gradually return towards the French Alps. The road winds through open valleys and gentle passes to Serre-Ponçon Lake, one of the most spectacular alpine lakes in Europe. The arrival at the lake offers wide and relaxing panoramas, ideal for ending the day without rushing.

The great alpine day of the tour. We pass through Briançon and tackle the famous Col de Vars, one of the most beautiful and flowing passes in the French Alps. Return to Italy via Cesana and final climb to Sestriere, always on wide, well-maintained asphalt.

Last day among the Piedmont mountains. Pleasant roads, open panoramas and a relaxed pace accompany the return to Casalgrasso, where motorcycles are returned. Final transfer included to Turin Airport area hotel or end of services.

I speak the language of the mountains and the language of travelers. Every tour is an opportunity to share the beauty of these places with new friends.
Expert guide tips
Documents
EU citizens only need a valid ID card. Non-EU citizens should check visa requirements for Italy and France. A valid motorcycle license is required. We recommend bringing the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) and travel insurance that covers motorcycle riding. Keep digital copies of all documents on your phone.
Health
No vaccinations required for Italy and France. We recommend travel insurance that covers motorcycle riding. Bring your personal medications and a small first aid kit. Pharmacies are easily available along the route. In case of emergency, European healthcare is excellent.
Climate and gear
June-July: ideal season, 20-30°C in the valleys, 10-20°C at altitude. Lavender blooms from mid-June to mid-July. Bring a layered riding jacket with protections, summer gloves and waterproof layer – alpine weather can change quickly. Sunscreen, sunglasses and a buff are recommended. Evenings can be cool in the mountains.
Money
Currency is Euro (€) in both Italy and France. Cards are accepted almost everywhere. We recommend having some cash for small purchases in villages. ATMs are available in all towns. Tipping is not mandatory but appreciated for good service. Budget €30-50/day for lunches, dinners and extras.
Riding level
Easy level – all roads are 100% paved. You need to be comfortable on a motorcycle for 3-5 hours a day on winding mountain roads. No off-road experience required. The pace is relaxed with plenty of photo stops and breaks. Perfect for riders of all experience levels, including those traveling with a passenger.
Bees in the lavender fields
The lavender roads are full of bees – thousands of them, active and fast. The real danger is while riding: a bee entering an open visor at speed can sting your face or neck and cause a serious reaction, ruining your trip or worse. Keep your visor closed at all times when riding through or near lavender fields. Jacket fully zipped, gloves on, no gaps. This is not optional. If you are allergic to bee stings, bring your EpiPen and inform the guide before departure.
Practical tips
Your Italian or EU SIM will work fine in both countries (EU roaming). Phone signal is excellent everywhere. French and Italian are the local languages, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas. Try the local cuisine: fondue in the Alps, lavender honey in Provence. The lavender season is short – book early to secure your spot!
